Details

Join us on our special guided tour of Halifax Town Hall, a building of immense architectural significance both inside and out. So much so, it was voted one of the top ten Town Halls in the country in 2008 by Architect Today magazine and has been described as truly outstanding by Historic England. Designed by Sir Charles Barry, architect of the Houses of Parliament, it was opened on 4 August 1863 by HRH The Prince of Wales. It was built to be the most grand and significant building in the town and stands today as a proud and permanent reminder of the affluence of Halifax in the Victorian era. The building never fails to impress visitors who travel from all over the country and world to see its splendours!

Tours start/end outside the Town Hall entrance. Please let us know, when you book, if lift/wheelchair access to different floors is required so that we can arrange this in advance. Duration 1 to 1½ hours. Please note any children booked on the tour must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket for the event and remain the responsibility of the parent or guardian at all times.

Halifax Heritage Tours CIC has been set up and is run by volunteers who are passionate about the heritage of 'Magic Halifax'.

Monies generated by ticket sales and donations will be put towards community and education projects to promote and preserve the heritage of Halifax.

There are a limited number of places on each tour and places can fill up quickly, so it's worth booking early!
