Willow Piglets for the Garden with Willowpool

Suitable for complete beginners and experienced willow weavers, this seasonal class invites you to create a piglet for the Garden from soaked willow rods. You will learn how to prepare dried withies or willowsticks and how to create frameworks for which to create your willow creature.

Willow sculptures can be used as either indoors or as a garden sculpture. You will be using a few simple tools such as secateurs and bodkins provided on the day. The techniques that you will learn can be applied to other materials and can be scaled up for large site-specific installations.

Materials are not included, butplease bring 18 in cash on the day and Willowpool will provide all the materials. Just bring your own secateurs and a ribbon and a bell if you wish to decorate your sculpture.

Willowpool designs are traditional and contemporary willow weavers, who have been weaving with willow for over 40 years.
