Jazz with Power & Swing‘7even’- the name given to the ANDY HOOLEY’s [https://www.andrewhooley.com/] exciting septet: a seven piece ensemble, featuring a positively explosive four part sax & trumpet front line, plus a driving rhythm section of piano, bass & drums. ‘7even' draws on the sounds of Oliver Nelson’s 'Blues and The Abstract Truth' album, as well cool sounds from the golden age of Blue Note. The band have performed at numerous jazz clubs and festivals across the UK, including the Love Supreme festival, supporting headline acts such as, Herbie Hancock, George Benson, The Jacksons and Gregory Porter. This hard-hitting seven piece is comprises some of the UK’s finest Jazz instrumentalists, here’s the line-up: Andy Hooley (tenor sax), Andy Mears (alto sax), Ben Cummings (trumpet), Karen Sharp [https://www.karensharp.co.uk/] (baritone sax), Jonathan Taylor [https://www.jonathantaylormusic.com/] (piano), Paul Jefferies (upright bass) & Andy Brotherton (drums).
