Matt Wates was described by the late John Dankworth as “an incredibly talented musician and composer” so you know you’re going to be listening to someone with a great musical pedigree! Matt, originally from London, now living in Oxfordshire received post graduate jazz education at America’s Berklee College of Music in 1988 and he has performed at clubs and theatres throughout UK, USA and Europe to significant critical acclaim since then. He has recorded twelve albums in his own name and appeared on recordings and in concert with a long list of A grade jazz stars including Humphrey Lyttleton, Helen Shapiro, Jamie Cullum and Norma Winston. Musically, his blend of flowing lines, deep blues sensitivities and mastery of chording have delighted audiences and fellow musicians alike. On stage will be the immensely talented pianist Jonathan Taylor and excellent young drummer Noah Stone - Paul Jefferies is on bass duties.
