About DAVID NEWTON
Exquisite timing, harmonic deliciousness and a wicked sense of inventiveness
Yes - David Newton has won the accolade of 'British Jazz Awards Best Pianist of the year’ 16 times. He is also a fellow of Leeds College of Music and thus recognised as one of our leading jazz educators as well as a pianistic supremo. His successes don’t end there, he has worked extensively with playwright Alan Aykbourn, is a founding artist for the LINN record label and has toured the world with some of the most recognised jazz musicians including Alan Barnes, carol Kidd, Marion Montgomery, Annie Ross and Claire Martin. It’s a privilege to have David with us at Woodstock Jazz, where he’ll be on stage with ever smiling, multi award winning drumming supremo that Steve Brown plus Paul Jefferies on double bass.
