Billy Liar

Let us take you back to the 1960’s to the Fisher household somewhere up North where Billy Fisher lives with is mother, father and granny. He works for the local undertakers, a job he really hates, and he is always in trouble with his employers and at home he is constantly being nagged and moaned at. There certainly isn’t any love in the house.

He got himself engaged to two young lasses but only one has the ring and the other is demanding it back, but he really loves another girl whom he hasn’t seen for months.

He has been offered a job in London, but will he take it?

He gets himself into all sorts of bother through his lies and is only truly happy when he lives in his imaginary world but he can’t live in there forever so what will happen to him when he does eventually face the real world?
