We are delighted to have Rachel Whitbread as our guide on this special walk celebrating some of the incredible women who have contributed to the heritage of Halifax. Rachel has researched Anne Lister, transcribed parts of her code for various projects and been involved in countless events and conversations with Anne Lister academics and admirers together with her mother Helena Whitbread, an invaluable contribution to promoting this extraordinary legacy. Share Rachels' passion for our heritage exploring connections to Halifax heroines, from the first female solo air balloonist, a master sculptor, diarists, property owners and trailblazing women MPs, to role models who shaped our local history, nurtured philanthropy, dedicated their working lives to service, promoted the wellbeing of residents and workers and those who advocated for women’s and civil rights. There is so much to share, we look forward to offering an insight into these amazing women to whom we owe so much.

Halifax Heritage Tours CIC has been set up and is run by volunteers who are passionate about the heritage of 'Magic Halifax'.

Monies generated by ticket sales and donations will be put towards community and education projects to promote and preserve the heritage of Halifax. Please note children must be accompanied by an adult.

There are a limited number of places on each tour and places can fill up quickly, so it's worth booking early!
