Winter Talk – ‘Reflections on the War in Afghanistan’

Brigadier Adam Griffiths will reflect on the Afghanistan Campaign and the part that 5 SCOTS (The Argylls’ battalion of The Royal Regiment of Scotland) played over three operational tours and that played by many other individuals.

About the Speaker Adam Griffiths deployed on four tours of Afghanistan (two with 5 SCOTS) and prepared UK Brigades and Battle Groups to deploy over the period 2011 to 2014. He commanded 5 SCOTS from 2009 and 2011 which included deploying the battalion to Afghanistan from September 2010 to April 2011. His last operational role in the Army was as Deputy Chief of Staff Strategy and Training at Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC), at that time the NATO warfighting Corps HQ on standby for operations.
