Join Surgeons Hall Museums Human Remains Conservator Cat Irving for this adult only, hands-on workshop, exploring the history of anatomical casting.

Anatomical models have been used since the eighteenth century to teach about normal anatomy and disease, and often these were made using casts from dissected cadavers. This workshop with human remains conservator Cat Irving will allow you to try out the process of casting a lamb’s heart using plaster or wax, which you will be able take home afterwards, while learning about the history of these models and their role in Surgeons’ Hall’s Collection.
